New England Society of Paranormal Investigators

Hi, I'd like to ask everyone's opinion on a controversial evp matter. As you all probably know, AtransC and about everyone else says that it's impossible to capture the same evp on different recorders. I'm a member of AtransC, but I disagree with their stand on this subject. How does everyone here feel about this ? Have any of you ever captured the same evp on different recorders ? Have you captured completely different evps on multiple recorders ? I have done both, and have several examples of these. I have recorded the same evp on 2 and 3 recorders, and have captured different evps, on 2, 3, and 4 recorders. The recordings of the same evp, were captured at slightly different times, usually about .2 to .3 seconds difference. I haven't checked the exact times of the totally different evps on multiple recorders, but they seem to be at the same time.

As I stated in a earlier forum..I also have caught the same evp on two different recorders so I know that it does happen. I also have seen events where two mics are in the same room, one picked up a evp where the other did not. This field has alot of "unknowns" to it....I have been in this field for sometime now and believe it or not I am still always learning and listening in new ways that I never have before. EVP's are one of the most intresting parts of being a paranormal investigator I think. Hearing the voice of the past try to communicate with the living...that is unreal, we have collected some EVP's that you would swear it was a living person talking...but "no" it was a unknown recorded voice. We here at Nespi are alwaying willing to try new methods to capture EVP's but to be honest the "best" EVP's come from a simple basic digital Mic!

You're absolutely right about everything, and I couldn't agree more. The entire field of the paranormal is one big unknown, but hopefully people like you and I, can someday answer some of the questions ? I too learn everyday, and would be disappointed if I didn't. I love the passion and emotion heard in evps, and it's almost like knowing the person, or spirit rather. I have been accused of trying to pass off real voices as evps, but there's nothing further from the truth. Some indeed do sound like living people, but when you're there and hear nothing, you know they have to be real. I agree that the best evps come from the built in mic on digital recorders. Some in our group like analog tape, but I've always preferred digital. Do you ever use added noise of any type ? I have tried it, but usually there's plenty of noise available anyway. I sometimes use a battery powered water fountain, and have had good results with it. How do you feel about the ghost box, or radio sweep recordings ? I was set against them for a long time, but finally tried one, and was really amazed. I know they're not true traditional evps, but feel they are worth study and research. Thanks ! Richard
